Lenart Dirk says:

I'm an English as a foreign language teacher in Belgium. I'm looking for suggestions for a novel. My students are 16-17 years old and have been studying English for four years.
The novel shouldn't be too long (200 pages on average) and in fairly easy English. The storyline should appeal to both boys and girls and some suspense is not forbidden.
I'm not looking for 'the classics', but novels like: Meg Rosoff 'How I Live Now', Mark Haddon 'Curious Incident', Boyne 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas', Louis Sachar 'Holes'. These are the ones I've read thus far and found acceptable.
The ultimate goal is to give them a nice experience: hey! I managed to read a novel in English and it wasn't a chore!
Thanks for all your suggestions.
