I really like the video Ariane has done for this Amazon page, and I like how she has claimed Christmas for atheists (as well) and that she has helped show we can still enjoy most parts of it and not agonise over not believing in the God bits anymore. In any case, even as a Christian celebration (never mind the general solstice aspects) it essentially commemorates Jesus of Nazareth's birth, and the historical Jesus had some good stuff to say and most atheists probably recognise that; so we can even have goodwill towards Jesus if it comes to that, at this festive time. He was not "perfect," whatever a perfect person might be like, but some of his sayings remain among the greats.
