'Alliott creates warm, human characters that you instantly connect with... she'll entertain and surprise you with every chapter' (Sunshine Coast Daily, Australia)
'Compulsively readable...[not all is] sweetness and light in Alliott's world; darker themes are also found. This gives it all a sharper edge, and a feeling that real choices are being made by real people.' ( The Times )

It is easy to read and dip in and out of, perfect for a holiday. A light hearted look at how sometimes we all misread situations and jump to conclusions when we don't have all the facts, this book is the one to read if you want a book which doesn't take itself too seriously. I guarantee it will make you laugh!
The majority of people quiet enjoyed this book and found it amusing, her brother and his partner being the absolute stars. Our only real complaints were that it did end up a bit predictable and seemed to lose it's way a little after the first third before it then picked up again. Some of us were looking for something a little bit deeper & felt that other titles by this author had flowed better. But overall if you a looking for a book that does not make you think to hard and is a light funny read then it can be enjoyable.
It is a very engaging plot with some excellent twists. Very humorous in places but also touching, this is a real chick lit novel with a great plotline running through.
It follows the tribulations of Herietta Tate, a mother returning to work for the first time in years. The charcter is well built up and very engaging. It really feels as if we are right there with her at times which shows the writing must be good. The time passed so quickly when I was reading this that I stayed up late into the night on several occassions. It really does draw you in and, in my opinion at least, is a real page turner. Give it a try, it's defintely worth it.
