My 18 year old son probably spends more time sitting in his office chair doing homework/playing games than sleeping in his bed. So comfort is important. The previous not so cheap one from PC World has lasted a few years to be fair, but when the arm rest broke, and I took a good look at it, I was ashamed at the state of it! Full of rips and tears, typical of a poor quality product. But he is quite a thrifty young lad, and even though I was paying, was reluctant to part with the chair which he probably considers almost part of his clothing.
I spend a long time reviewing products, and finally chose this one, based on previous reviews (and I have to admit, the price). It took a couple of weeks to finally get my son to let me assemble this (mind you, he was studying for exams), and despite protests, got them switched over. Only then did he realise what an uncomfortable chair his previous one was. This TecTake really is Luxury. Excellent padding and support, and really comfortable arm rests, that are nicely shaped to allow him closer to his desk than he previously could manage. The casters are great, and moves nicely on both wooden and carpeted floors. The dampened high adjustment is very easily adjusted to the perfect height. But the main thing really is the padding. Twice the thickness of the previous chair, making it really comfortable to sit on.
There was a slight rip in one of the arm rests - despite it being well packaged, there is always the risk of transit damage. So I contacted TecTake last Sunday to see if they could supply just a replacement cover section. They replied Sunday night, and insisted on sending a whole new arm, which arrived in 3 days. Unbelievable. From Germany. Fantastic service.
Honestly, I cannot recommend this chair enough. I can't wait for mine to pack in, so I can justify getting myself one! (Now, where's my hammer...)
