Great to be able to watch all the episodes again in the right order, as the long running story progresses. Hill Street has certainly stood the test of time and is as brilliant today as it was 30 years ago. Always the mark of a good TV series, the passage of time has barely touched this production - other than the officers' inevitable lack of digital communication devices! The story itself is as gritty, amusing and as relevant today as it ever was, with a wonderful cast, direction and production. Complete and unadulterated; the whole story in crystal clear picture quality, giving hours and hours of top quality entertainment, all contained in a neat and solid presentation box. Great to snuggle down and watch on winter evenings, when, unlike 30 years ago, there really isn't anything on the telly anymore. Well worth every penny.

At long last all of the series released
Good quality - high price to pay - but worth it
For anyone who remembers "lets be careful out there" and enjoyed it then - get this set and relive top quality TV entertainment

Awesome - have been waiting years for more than the first two seasons!!
Lovely little filing cabinet style box with handle, containing all 7 seasons in standard plastic cases.
Worryingly said Region 4 on the cases, but plays fine on my Region 2 player.
Good to see more adventures of Hill and Renko etc in a nostalgic trip back to the 80's!

At last Fox caved in to the public demand for the complete series of the finest ever police drama to be released.
The only caveat I have is that this set was advertised as Region 2, when it is in fact Region 4. Luckily all my DVD players are multi-region. But there may be many people who will be caught out with unplayable discs. This is why I've only given 4 stars to what is otherwise a splendid item.
Amazon please get your act together.

Back in the day US cop shows were dominated by the bubblegum fare of Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angel's etc. This show broke the mould. Without Hill Street there would have been no NYPD Blue, Homicide - Life on the Street, The Wire etc. Until HSB showed the way there would have been no place for the excellent drama that the US can produce when they make the effort. The show is set in a shambolic precinct in an unnamed city where the protagonists do thier best just to keep a lid on tensions that could lead to chaos. Well rounded characterisations set this show apart from anything else being made at the time (ignore Faye Furillo...she's a pain). Buy it...you won't be disappointed. P.S. it DOES play on Region 2 players despite some reviewers saying they had problems. Region free players can be picked up for £30 anyway if you do find problems. Everyone should have one as a backup.
