Took about 40 mins to add an SSD to my Mac Mini 2012, used a Samsung 840. Definitely not for the faint hearted as there are a lot of delicate components and cables inside a Mac Mini, even the guide that comes with this has lots of 'be careful' and 'don't break it' comments inside.

It does work though, very well.

Performance without the penalty. Having followed the instructions that are clear and well written, I had no problems in installing the second drive. It went stress free and had the system up and running in no time.
I searched for how to create a Fusion drive (Pair both together for both capacity and performance) followed the simple steps and then restored my time machine backup to the newly created volume and was running with fast boot times and application performance comparable to having just an SSD.

Kit does exactly what it says on the tin - took me about 30 minutes to install (following their online videos), with only 1 or 2 scary moments. Note - I work in IT for a living. I'm not sure this kit is for the feint of heart!

Everything you need to upgrade you MAC mini with a second hard drive or SSD. Just make sure you don't just look at images and PROPERLY READ the instruction. My order cam with an additions which is not mentions in the description there was a Bluetooth shield sticker to stop interferences between the SUB 3 port and the Bluetooth chip a know issue for 2012 mac mini model, so that was VERY NICE surprise, the only feedback would be to have the link to the video as a QR Code too so avoid having to type the lengthy web address....

The kit handily comes with a flyer stating that there are 2 different kinds of drive mount for the Mac Mini, and if you have one of those kinds then you need to order extra parts to fit it. 3 guesses which mine is!
Why this isn't in the product description is beyond me, and given I've paid for next day delivery on this and a drive from another vendor I'm not exactly pleased that it was a total waste of money!

So, to save you wasting your time as the vendor doesn't care, here's how you check:
Open disc utility and select your existing drive
In the bottom left of the window you'll see a field called 'Connection ID'
If it says UPPER then you're out of luck at this kit won't work
If it says LOWER then you can use this kit.

Awful, lazy vendor, wasted my time and money. Couldn't recommend less.

Does exactly what it should. SSD installed and working (had previously been running from a USB caddy).
Instructions good and clear, additional BT shield (to deal with USB3/BT interference) fitted well and seems to have improved things.

The logic board removal tool needs a little tweaking to get it to sit correctly, but that's a finger squeeze on the ends, not excessive.

I'm sure if your not in the slightest bit saavy with IT then you wouldn't even be looking here so I'll assume you know what it's for :p

I upgraded my Mac mini (mid 2011) which now has a crucial 240GB SSD with windows 7/OSX mavericks and this cable does exactly what it advertises, fitting was a little heart wrenching but I did it, and with the tools provided, so for anyone looking to upgrade, this is a must by!

Good Kit, plus the step by step instructions make updating the second drive a breeze, it also comes with an extra bonus WiFi shield as Apple seemed to have forgotten to add one into the late 2012 models, this kit is recommended and having a new SSD in my Mini is the difference between night and day, well worth the effort!

It came with a fantastic, easy to follow guide with detailed pictures. I'd never carried out a task as complex as this on a Mac before but it wasn't as complex I thought and I think the guide really helped that. The tools are of good quality too. Overall I'd highly recommend this very high quality product.
