Without any warning signs the hard drive on my Macbook Pro Early 2013 died a death, just loud clicking sounds and it failed to boot.

I had a few moments of palpitations, panic, fearing the worst.

Luckily my Macbook was the last of the Unibody designs so it was a simple job to undo ten screws and take the base of the laptop off, remove the hard drive and replace it with this Seagate Drive. The old drive, a Hitachi lasted just over 2 years of extreme use.

Having learned from previous experience I had already been fastidious in backing up everything with the Time Machine. I was up and running within three hours including installing the back up.

This drive appears to be a little faster in booting up and accessing files and so far there have been no hitches. It is also very quiet. I had intended to replace it with a 1TB SSD but baulked at the cost. Maybe next year, perhaps!

All in all I am extremely satisfied with this new drive. If at some stage it gives me any grief I will up date my review. So far I am very pleased and if I had known how easy it was to replace the drive I'd have done it before now.

Used to upgrade my 80GB PS3, initially I had some issues after I restored the data to the drive. After a reformat and subsequent restore it seems to be working OK - I now have loads of storage space to store games and music on my PS3 system. Note for those thinking of upgrading their own PS3: If you have downloaded PS Store content deactivate/unauthorise your old system (that is, with the old drive still in use), then once things are restored you can re-activate the new system. All download games should then work OK.

Little to add that hasn't been said many times before, put it into my PS4 and doubled the memory.
Made the PS4 much faster and it was a good price.

Bought this as end of AS exams present for one of my sons. Took a system backup of his old disk (you got how many movies, music and games on there? Suffice to say the backup took a while). Then used the standard Win 7 recovery process to put everything back onto the new disk. Job done, and one more teenager who can collect more games, music, and movies.

My boyfriend bought this to out into his PS4, he tells me it makes the console much quicker and loads games at twice the speed that the original HDD would have done.

Does not replace a dedicated ssd and started having working issues after a while. I would recommend purchasing a ssd than an hybrid.
