    This is a brilliant item at a very good price . Works extremely well. Buyers beware though the instructions are for all the timers sold and tell you that it is 240volt. If connected to any voltage above 12 volt it will blow up. Also there are 3 wiring diagrams for the timers, diagram A,B,and C. The 12 volt DC timer is diagram A. which uses the live feed wire as the switch wire, therefore requiring a loop from the feed side to the supply side as per the diagram. The instructions do not tell you which diagram to use.This could also be confusing for a great many purchasers of the item. Already sent for two more.

    Super little time switch, I got this to periodically switch on and off a raspberry pi after the raspberry pi does a proper shutdown via a cron job. This timer ensures that the raspberry pi doesn't crash due to being left switched on continuously when it is deployed remotely as a 3G security camera. Instead the time switch switches the raspberry pi off after the cron shutdown and a minute later switches it back on again keeping everything running smoothly. The time switch has 17 on and off programmes so it will switch something on and off 17 times a day which is more than enough for my needs. I switch my raspberry pi on and off 4 times a day.
    The wiring is a bit tricky to understand but follow the pictures on the instruction leaflet and you'll be fine. Easy to programme, small compact size, suitable for mounting to a surface, also has an LED which illuminates when the time switch programme is set to on but most importantly runs on a 12VDC Leisure Battery or equivilent!

    Very useful unit if you need to control 12volt DC devices. Mine has crashed/locked once during the 7 months I have been using it, this meant it did not turn the device off, a reset and reprogram cured this and it has not happened since. Keep an eye on its function if your needs are critical, Electronics within whatever do funny unpredictable things sometimes.
    Overall, I am pleased with the product and I think the price is very good also.

    Not easy to find a 12v dc timer so it looks like a great product and I suppose at the price it is it's not surprising that it takes for ever to arrive and then failed after a very short period of time. Contact with the seller initially was good and they offered to replace free of charge...but after another very long wait the second timer has now also failed and no response from the seller this time. Suspect cheap relay inside...really disappointing. Lasts just long enough to fall outside Amazon's guarantee...what a surprise!

    This is a very good timer. However it requires to be wired correctly for it to work. I looked at a YouTube video by Scott Wilson, who describes how to wire the timer in a simple and correct manner.
    It is expected that you put 12v in at the input side and get 12v output across the two switch pins, this IS NOT the case, since it is a single pole switch and therefore a link wire is required from the 12v positive input across to one end of the switch. When the timer operates the remaining pin receives the 12v positive supply which goes to your device. The negative supply contact for your device is taken from the negative pin on the input supply side. I hope this helps those who struggle to connect this timer.

    Took ages to arrive, would be nice to know this actually appears to come from China. Got it in the end and working. Instructions could be better but with perseverance and experimentation got the whole thing wired up and working. Its for a light in the chicken shed to come early. So far working well. Would buy again, excellent value for money.

    Have this controlling a 12v cooler in my shed at my RV site. My RV & shed are on a solar system. Timer turns the 12V cooler on from 9:00am to 9:30pm so the 12V cooler is only cooling when the sun is shining and does not drain the battery all night long when it cooler anyways. Runs all summer long. Beer is always cold. Works great.

    Very impressive timer for the price! I just got the item today and it works great so I can't say much on the durability and longevity of the item but the features are impressive. You can read the reviews here to hear many comments on the programming, wiring, etc.
    The only negative for me personally, is that the backup battery can not be turned off when you put the item in storage. The backup battery is constantly running if you don't have the device connected to power. I plan to use this device when I go camping to control bug lights. I want them to turn on and off at certain times. However, when I'm not camping, it would be nice to turn off the unit completely to save the small lithium battery inside but there is no way of doing this. So the backup battery is probably not going to last very long in my case because it will be constantly running when it's sitting in the garage and drain down completely. When you receive the item, the clock is running and fully functional with no power connected at all. You can program it, etc.
    It will be interesting to see how long the backup battery works without being connected to power.

    Das geht alles wunderbar aber ich hatte die Schaltuhr gekauft um mein System auf knopfdruck 10-20 min mit Strom zu versorgen sodass es sich danach selbst abschaltet und das habe ich bis heute nicht geschafft.

    Nur als Zeitschaltuhr zu verwenden und nicht als 5 min timer.
