Why buy internal solid state drives?
There are several advantages that SSD’s have over conventional Hard Drives.
Firstly, SSD’s have no moving parts. As such, they do not have to ‘spin up’ when the power is off, meaning they can maintain stored data without power and access data faster than hard-drives. This also means there is less chance of them breaking down.
Secondly, SSD’s do not need defragmenting, as their performance is not affected by the location of the data on the drive. Defragmentation is the process of protecting your computer from the growth of fragmentation – the break-up of files into pieces to fit on a disk.
While hard drives can be affected by strong magnetic fields, SSD’s remain unaffected due to the lack of magnetic parts.
