"Pointless addition to the cover." - by Critical Mass
I think having Tony Robinson on the cover is needless and very off putting. Why do we need to seem him on the cover? It is not a comedy, at best there are maybe a few slightly humorous moments and certainly not worthy of a guffaw. That aside the actual content regarding walking is worth the purchase,

"Very good" - by Matthew Dawood Khaghani
Really sad TBH, makes you relise how bad things used to be for children. Gives today's socialists somethig to think about. Children mistreated, incarcerated.

"6 year old boy loves this" - by HR
We bought this for our 6 year old (nearly 7) son - who is just developing an interest in history - he loves us reading it to him at bedtime - each king or queen's stories are just the right length, bite size short, with multi paragraph sections on different topics. The language and vocabulary is easy to read and understand - with some great illustrations and a few nice gory stories thrown in.

"An Empire of facts for school projects." - by The Cool Cookie (Scotland)
Reviewed by 10 year old son. This book contained all the facts and habits of the Romans. They held the Roman Empire and lived in Rome! It was incredibly noisy and stinky because there was so many people there. There were also barbarians, Goths and vandals, but not like we have them today.

"Truly excellent" - by T. Alexander (East Anglia, UK)
The previous Pratchett book staring Tiffany Aching, `The Wee Free Men', was an absorbing and entertaining read but this second book in the series is simply another degree of excellence above its predecessor. In this book Tiffany is now eleven and is leaving home for the first time in order to learn what it means to be a witch. Travelling to the mountains she stays with the research witch Miss Level but a creature from the dawn of time is stalking her and will make life difficult once it catches her.

It has been a long time since I read an entire book in a single day but this one was just so absorbing and entertaining that I just could not put it down. The book is as intelligently written, bringing the characters and scenery to life as effectively if not better than any other Discworld book. ... full review

"I somehow forgot what an excellent story, what an excellent-line it has" - by daveB60
Feet of Clay, first read this book when it first came out 1996... I somehow forgot what an excellent story, what an excellent-line it has. It features my all-time favourite Pratchett character, Commander Sam Vines, and is a first class murder mystery, and very funny too. The plot is so good it would stand-up if set in any time or any place - in the "Disk World" or the real world - it would not matter. Some people don't read Terry Pratchett because it is set in an imaginary world, they think he writes fairy tales, his world is far more realistic than you may think.

"Pacing and photography and interviews are great" - by Craig Peacock
The pacing is perfect. Personally I like it better than Time Team which has an artificially imposed time limit. The photography is beautiful and the interviews with local experts and eye witnesses really bring the topics to life.

"men at arms" - by grannie
as always cannot recommend too highly but the I am a Terry Pratchett fan. This story had my favourite guards in, who bumble through life with such a cheerful air that you cannot help but be cheered up
.All the Watch chasing a new weapon, all the guilds involved, and superbly narrated by Tony Robinson with such skill as to make the characters come to life. What more could you ask for.
Pratchett has such a skill with words, interpreting them literally. If you haven't read/ listened to him please, please do so. You will not be disappointed.
