"Great prime lens" - by Liliana Costa (London)
Paired up with the sony a6000 it delivers great image quality. Bokeh is very appealing and the colors are vibrant.
The distortion on the crop sized sensor is not very noticeable, but I've seen mentions that on the full-frame it might become a nuisance. The JPEGs correct for the distortion and there are also correction profiles on Lightroom. Beware if you are buying for a FF camera.

A must buy if you are thinking of a prime lens and maybe on the future you do want to upgrade to a FF sensor. Price is sensible and on par with other prime offerings from Sony.

Doesn't have IS, unfortunately.

"5 Star lens, small issues make it a 4 star buy" - by Michael J. Davies (England)
This is an excellent lens for the full frame Sony A7/R/S cameras.

I had the FE 16-35 and 24-70 Zeiss lenses, but the range of the 24-70 was so limited I found I was just using the 35mm end of the 16-35mm and cropping, so I sold it. My interest is landscape photography, so most images are wide angle, but there are times when one needs a greater reach. I also do occassional photo walks with the wife, and miss the range and ease of the Sony RX10 which the wife has inherited.
So after much dithering, reading reviews, and hoping it would come further down in price, I finally made the decision to get this 24-240mm.
And it was a good decision.

On the A7R the detail I am seeing is on a par with the Zeiss Sony lenses. Centre sharpness is superb, edge sharpness less so, ... full review

"To be perecly honest I dont realy like zoom lens's but wow." - by Ian_C
To be perfectly honest I don't really like zoom lenses as I normally only use prime lenses.
I recently wanted a fit all handy occasion lens and I didn't want to be forever changing my primes. So I plump for this one.
Ok it's not as bright as a prime lens, but as this is primarily designed for the Sony Full Frame A7 24mp its darn sharp on the NEX and now my new A6500.

I found the big thing in it's favour I'm using it on my APS-C, wow the performance on that is unbelievably sharp.
No vignette "shadows in the corners" even when its wide open at 28mm setting even with a UV circular polarising filter fitted.
For all the NEX range including the A5000, A6000 etc,the APS-C censers are only looking through the centre and the sharpest portion of the lens.

"Absolutely Brilliant!" - by MyKeyReviews (Hampshire, UK.)
I own a couple of FE lenses for my Sony A7M2, all of which are fantastic in their own right, however this one has now taken the #1 favourite spot of them all, it's just a very pleasant lens to use and the quality of imagery you can get from this is phenomenal.

Inside the box you also get a carry pouch, a plastic conical lens hood and the normal bits of paper work.

The whole lens body has a robust and top quality feel, making you feel like you paid for a product that means business. There are a couple of switches and features located on the exterior, which are:
∙ Auto Focus Range Switch: Full Range | Infinity - 0.5m | 0.5m - 0.28m. When you get used to knowing your distance, using this switch to specifically tell the camera will speed up the ... full review

"Premium Top Quality Lens That Can Deliver Sharp & Bekehlicious Photos" - by MyKeyReviews (Hampshire, UK.)
♦ Introduction ♦

The G Master Lens series by Sony are their top of the range and some of their most expensive lenses available, so as a hobbyist I was truly stuck whether to go for the [[ASIN:B01BUAVL7E 85mm F1.4]] or [[ASIN:B01BUAVMQY 24-70mm F2.8]] lens as I could only afford one, though to be honest, both have received EXTREMELY positive reviews in regards to build quality and performance, so there really isn't a bad choice but more down to which one you would use more. It was such a tough choice, however in the end I decided to go for the 85mm and so far I have been very happy with it.

"Super sharp, super fast, super duper" - by EDVARD (UK)
This is my second copy, i ordered a second because the aperture was not symmetrical when stopped down on the first sample. However the replacement had the same issue, but im going to keep it as its so damn sharp.
When comparing the two lenses in lightroom, this copy is much sharper and has more contrast. It is truly stunning. I upgraded from the 55mm 1.8, not only is this lens faster, but the pictures have a nicer quality to them, the colours look more vivid, its also sharper to my eye. This lens has bankrupted me, but its the coolest toy a boy could own! I would mark it down a star, due to the qc not being up to scratch, but amazon are so good with their returns its not such a big issue.
Comparing it side by side with the 28-70mm kit lens, the difference is stark, ... full review
