"simple and easy" - by Tamanna
I bought this for my son who was starting secondary school. The display on the calculator allows for more readable sums, fractions for example allow you to actually see one number abover the other one instead of using some weird symbol like the calculators when I was at school. The calculator is very simple to use, as well as the standard numbers and mathematical functions, you have a joypad which enables you to move to different parts of the sum (useful if it is a complex one) and make changes without the need to erase everything back to the point where you need to make a correcton.

Very happy with the purchase

"Invaluable Calculator for Engineering Students" - by Sarah Slater
What can I say, teaching Engineering to students I found that I broke my trusty calculator (another Casio) and instantly knew which one to get.
the FX-85 is one of the best calculators I think for undergraduate students to get studying engineering, and I find it an invaluable item.
Being pretty low cost, responsive and easy to use, it sits right with me in my study for when I need it (usually a lot) :)

"Brilliant" - by Catherine
Fantastic, quick delivery, great price only a few pence more than the cheapest price of the normal coloured one. Wanted one in this blue since school, now I'm at uni and treated myself to it. Really pleased.

"Great graphical calculator" - by A STEVENS
Graphics are fast.

Updating the operating system (if you choose to do so) is straightforward (requires connect to a computer with the connector that comes with the calculator).

Has all the features you would expect of a scientific calculator.

It is programmable. There are two options: (i) program using the Casio programming language; (ii) program using a micro version of Python (this is a downloadable app).

"Cheap but make no mistake not as good as the casio calculators" - by Mr I
Cheap but make no mistake not as good as the casio calculators. Buttons feel very cheap and doesn't always recognise each press but you get what you pay for and it works ok just annoying that you have to sometimes press buttons several times before it recognises it.

"Perfect for high school" - by Philip H
Perfect calculator for my teenage son who needs a scientific calculator for school and confirmed by a teacher. Find that this is good value for money and although it's gone up in price, so far it's still better value on Amazon.

"Good replacement calculatr" - by T. E. Herbert (Roydon, Essex)
I replaced an old solar calculator that had stopped working. This fits the bill and uses solar and batteries and works well, and useful if you want to work out complicated tasks. I only use this for simple calculations, it's a good make.

"Exceptional Product." - by jamsie-boy-70
I wanted a really good calculator to see me through Open University Studies and this looks like the one.
I have had other calculators where the quality was not quite right, for example some keys jamming every so often and not quite as smooth a keystroke as it should be probably due to slightly inferior manufactured components, poor layout of scientific functions.
Anyway, I bought this calculator based upon the excellent reviews here combined with the price, not quite as cheap as the general £5-£10 'supermarket' variety of scientific calculators but it has much, much more functionality. Keypress is solid and smooth with a softness at the lowest point. Sturdy case with the four legs/studs that actually lie 100% flush with your table i.e. no annoying 'wobble'. 'Pi' is very easy to find - Hooray! my last calculator had it buried somewhere ridiculous. 'Equal' key is slightly larger as ... full review

"Good calculator" - by Joel
I bought this calculator because I was finding the buttons on my old one too small, and as a student nurse it's important I get all my calculations right!

This fits the bill perfectly: pocket sized, but the buttons are nicely spaced and make for easy use. Would recommend it to anyone.
