"Very handy affordable big zoom camera" - by am
I bought this for myself and my partner we both have an interest in taking photos we're not experienced but like to have fun taking pictures of wildlife or landscapes. My phone can take quite nice photos but there are times I need a much longer reach and we didn't want to spend a lot on a camera so picked this up.

In most ways it's a very simple camera to use relatively few modes and quick access to the most of the settings it won't confuse users straight forward operation. In the box you get:
4 x AA alkaline batteries
Lens cap and a cord to attach it
USB cable and strap

It's nice to have the batteries included but you will get much more shots from good quality rechargeable cells we have a lot around so use them and keep the included ones as a spare set.
Main appeal of this was the big ... full review

Great small DSLR camera and great 18-55 af-p lens

"A really good little camera" - by Graham Cownie (UK)
Comming from the Nikon D80 it was a shock to experience the small body and flimsier feel of the D5500. But really that's not a criticism, just an observation. The D5500 is a great little camera. The menu items on the touch screen monitor are an absolute doddle to use. This makes it much more likely that the average joe will experiment a bit more rather than leaving the camera in auto. Video quality is very good, even in low light. The clincher for me is the clean HDMI output which I shall use to record directly to ProRes.

"D7200 and some non-techy reasons to upgrade from D7000" - by E. J. Hankin (UK)
So there's no tilting screen. No problem and probably better maintains integrity of weather sealing for being fixed (D750 screen is weather sealed and seems VERY vulnerable). Use WiFi and your smart device as your Live View repeater and shutter release. Easy peasy.
Auto focus in accuracy and speed is nothing short of mind blowing. No back focussing issues that I'd always suspected were my technique; well, it wasn't me! EV range of 14 stops is incredible meaning low light autofocus is achievable with D7200 where the D7000 would be floundering.
Command dials, menus selection and information display integration are massively improved. Press the button and the rear info button, and the rear LCD pings into life with idiot proof infographics on what to do to achieve settings required. So beautifully simple, quick and visual; a significant improvement on D7000.
LCD screen is a very obvious improvement: not much bigger but a lot ... full review

"Four stars for the camera but there is a whopping but..." - by Willow
I must be one of the first to get get my paws on this little beauty. Read the spec and be happy in the knowledge the B700 delivers superbly in all departments. Now here comes the 'but!' Nikon's Snapbridge app, which is supposed to be one of the camera's selling points, is utterly useless. Just check out the reviews in Google Play and you will see what I mean. Pairing the camera with a tablet or smartphone is hit and miss at best. If, and it's a big if, you manage to make contact, downloading photos takes an eternity; indeed you will grow old waiting.

It is unforgivable that Nikon can get away with such a poor, heavily bugged app, yet promote it as a selling point for this camera.

Having contacted Nikon and complained, I received a reply that did nothing to really explain why the app is such a mess.

"The future of DSLR photography, blown away!" - by Tondoz (UK)
I was fed up with the amount of dust that the sensor of my Nikon D7100 was picking up and the number of times I was having to get it cleaned so was torn between getting shot of all my gear and moving to Canon, upgrading to the D7200 or looking at what was new to market.

The D5600 had just been released and on paper looked amazing, so I decided to 'downgrade' to what is classed as a beginners camera.

The camera was poorly packed by Amazon in a box that had a bare minimum of those air filled bags around it, so was rattling around inside the box and on opening it up it was obvious that the camera had been unpacked and packed back in the box again at sometime as the battery wasn't even in any plastic packing or where it should have been in the box. ... full review
