"Excellent after adjustment" - by Mr K J Matthews
My first mini lathe. Works well now that I have setup and adjusted it correctly. This product will require you to adjust it out of the box. Overall finish is probably one of the best from our Chinese friends. I would have given this 5 stars apart from 2 things. 1. The four jaw chuck is horrible and not an independent jaw chuck, 2. The lead screw was loose on it's bolts and this caused the gears not to mesh with the spindle gear when choosing certain pitch sizes. Would I buy this lathe again? Yes, good power, taper spindle bearings and all metal gears make this one of the better mini lathes out there in my opinion.

"Super mini lathe" - by Terence O.
Very good mini lathe for small jobs, beads etc. I actually brought this to see if I could turn some tuning pegs for a sitar I am restoring and Its doing the job well. Brought this version of this lathe as there are a few sellers selling exactly the same lathe but with tool sets and bits and bobs, this is just the bare minimum and cheapest version I could find. Why the bare minimum you may ask? because the chisels supplied with the other sets are absolutely useless, cheap steel that would never keep an edge, a couple of friends brought the ones I am talking about. Well for £50 I think its really good ,well made and if you don't try to turn something that's beyond its capability's and take your time it will serve you well. Just to finish, it doesn't come fitted with a uk 3 ... full review

"It's very good - to a point." - by Peter
Good motor and have been able to make some nice things on it - and that's with no experience. The tool/hand-rest is rubbish - it's made of aluminium and if you just touch it with a tool you get a notch - which is not what you need when you want to run the length of your piece of work. Plus it's not long enough. I've asked someone to make me a better one to fit this lathe. However, you do adopt ways of making it all work. The tool/chisel provided is okay if you keep it sharpened. I have searched everywhere to get another or a different shape on the same scale and would appreciate the opportunity to buy a couple of spares. I would also like to be able to make a little cup or box, but it is the wrong sort of chuck. More opportunity to sell ... full review

"Ok for the money" - by Mr K J Matthews
Cheap, but does the job. I recommend buying a second one to get additional tool holders, you can never have enough holders! The bottom of the holder is flat. So if your lathe has a raised post, as mine has, you will need to add a large washer below it, or recess a bore into the bottom of the holder.

"This should be the first." - by VICARAGE3
There are lots of books on the market to instruct in the use of a mini lathe. This one should be your first port of call as it takes you from taking it out of the box up to how to use the various extra's and maintaining your pride and joy.

"... a shattered control box but fixed it with some super glue, rest was all fine" - by Raja Varma
I received mine with a shattered control box but fixed it with some super glue, rest was all fine, it works as it is supposed to, wish i had got one with higher motor Hp, but a this one is a good one for small jobs and I am happy with the kind of money I paid for it, worth buying for a beginner.
I am happy with the performance.
