"baking soda breads and pickling cauliflower at the first opportunity" - by Steven (Stoke on Trent, Staffs United Kingdom)
Wonderful, well written and beautifully photographed. A very fine collection of imaginative food that had me baking soda breads and pickling cauliflower at the first opportunity after buying the book. Really nicely printed and bound. I highly recommend it.

I am looking forward to making the goodies. Yes, the ingredients are not what I would normally use, but if I wanted normal, I would not buy this book!

"Nice recipes and colourful pictures" - by mellowpellow (West Midlands)
Ive waited since last year for this book to be published as I have to have a low fat diet but love cakes and biscuits. There some nice cakes. There are recipes for apples cake, carrot cake, date and walnut, oaty bicuits, orange biscuits, various scones and breads as well as quite a few muffin recipes. They all look easy and tasty and you could adapt most recipes to suit like adding coffee to date and walnut and missing out dates (I dont like dates) or swap the fruit in another recipe for your own choice of fruit. I cant wait to get baking.

"Another Fabulous book from Susan Jane White" - by Emily Hourican
Another fabulous book from Susan Jane White. She manages to combine the kind of information about diet and lifestyle that we all badly need, with really excellent, delicious and healthy alternatives. These are recipes that, instead of feeling like they are taking sugar and fun out of your life, feel as if they are adding excitement and taste. Try the Amazonian truffles, or the Leonard Cohen flapjacks. Or one of my favourites, the coffee and almond milkshake. Compared with her first book, there is more back-to-basics stuff here - how to make nut milks, or coconut yoghurt, but that doesn't mean she has neglected chocolate Guinness cake! Full of great lines, enthusiasm and a deep knowledge of and passion for, her subject, Susan Jane's book is the first step in living better, and happier. My favourite quote? "A man who gives little time to health will one day give much ... full review

"Lorraine Pascal is amazing, a great book with tasty guilt free recipes! Now let's see if it actually works..." - by Chris M
We bought this book because my wife is already a huge fan of Lorraine Pascal's but more so she loves baking and does it every weekend - but is trying to keep her calories in check.

My wife already uses the Hairy Bikers / dieters cook books and loves that they don't compromise on taste, and Lorraine's philosophy behind this book seems to be very much the same message.

We have baked three of the recipes from those released in the Daily Mail, if you're unsure about buying this book I would highly recommend you try out at least a couple of these recipes (a quick search online will bring these up).

We have been surprised by how many of the recipes are savoury, we were anticipating it to be primarily sweet baking (such as cakes and cupcakes), but it's nice to have a mix (I have ... full review

"completly new to raw desserts- i was pleasantly surprised" - by Amazonia (London, UK)
not exactly a book of just raw cakes as the title wants you to think but also cookies, smoothies, smoothie bowls, mousses, cupcakes. the recipes are very original and even though there are some unusual ingredients (spirulina, lucuma, bee polen, maca etc) they are sometimes referred to as 'optional' so don't be put off by that. this book makes me want to go to the kitchen and try every single recipe. that's the best indication of the quality of the book to me. I already made the apricot and ginger bars and loved them.

"Lovely, but expensive ingredients" - by LJB
This is a lovely book, well set out with lots of useful information, tempting recipes and pictures. Unfortunately, if this is not your normal diet, then there are a lot of ingredients (many expensive) you need to purchase before beginning any recipes.

I have only tried a few recipes so far due to the cost, but the power protein granola and spicy masala kale chips are already firm favourites.

I would recommend this book but not to those on a tight budget.

"... lovely book for those days when you want a sweet treat but are trying to be good" - by tb
A really lovely book for those days when you want a sweet treat but are trying to be good. The recipes are well written and easy to follow. I loved the attractive photography shots... nothing looked like a healthy sacrifice. I've made several recipes and so far no disappointments. Would definitely recommend for the self conscious amongst us.

"The best thing I like about these recipes is that I ..." - by Aidan Fenderston
The best thing I like about these recipes is that I can prepare some batches now and store them for later consumption. You never know when you'd need a GF food. This is especially very helpful to people who are on a strict GF diet and are on the go, these come very handy. Each recipe has number of yields so you know how much you're making from each. The instructions and the ingredients are very straightforward, nothing hard to understand. The pictures, though quite small still helped in seeing what delicious snack you'd make out of the recipe. And of course, all the recipes are very nice.
