"A surprisingly good little watch" - by Census
Let me start by saying that I wasn't looking for a running watch when I bought this - I was after an activity tracker with sleep tracking. I wanted one with a heart rate function and ideally also GPS. I also wanted a garmin as I already use another garmin watch and so wanted to keep everything on the same software (garmin connect, etc) for simplicity. I ended up buying this watch as well as the vivosmart HR plus on prime day for £120 and £110 respectively. I assumed the vivosmart would win outright, but I was wrong. I found it uncomfortable and bulky from the off. This watch on the other hand turned out to be a bit of a gem. Why?...

Firstly, it's a very comfortable watch, easy to wear as an everyday watch and low profile enough to wear even with shirts and cuffs/cufflinks (try that with the ... full review

"Good value for money. running and activity monitoring watch. Fast GPS acquisition, accurate wrist-based heart rate monitoring." - by "patp77"
Garmin Forerunner 235

I have been using this running watch every day now since I purchased it 4 weeks ago.
Previously I was using a Forerunner 110 which I had owned for the past 5 years.

What I like so far about the Forerunner 235:
• The charging clip is much easier to use than on the forerunner 110
• The wrist-based heart rate monitor works really well
• The Bluetooth link for uploading activities to Garmin Connect rather than struggling with a charging clip
• Being provided with extra information about my running performance than from the 110
• The nice design feature that allows for a hard glass screen protector to be used within the profile of the watch
• The ability to adjust the strap for the perfect fit with very fine adjustments
• The fact that the strap can be replaced by the user with minimal cost or effort

"Better than the Fenix 5s for the casual user" - by acl
Bought this to replace a fenix 5s, and for my needs, it's a better watch. The touchscreen makes the device far more usable, also the design makes the small screen look far better (this is the music variant) the steel bezel on the non-music and fenix range make the screen look silly, and although the casing may look like a watch, the screen is not good enough to carry it off, it just makes the screen look bad, so aesthetically I think this works better. It's a smartwatch/fitness tracker and not pretending to be anything else. It also adds features like NFC and music over the 5s, although the music bit currently doesn't work, so don't buy this watch for that feature. It states it'll work with deezer and iheart radio, but currently there's a glitch and it doesn't, however, that should get sorted in the future and it was ... full review

"Box Delux" - by Kindle Customer (IRVINE, AYRSHIRE)
Everything works easily and well, I've been using various GPS devices for ten years, watches, apps, hand held, they all do a great job, but the watches are the handiest by far. This one is fabulous.

"Nice, simple GPS watch" - by Amazon Customer
Nice, simple GPS watch. The most attractive feature for me is the large, high-contrast display. I'm old enough to need reading glasses but obviously can't wear them while running, so it's useful to have big clear digits to read.

"Awesome running watch" - by Amazon Customer
Husband loves this. What he wanted and more. He is always downloading apps for it, changing the watch face and so on. Also gets GPS very quickly, transfers data without delay and lots of other great features. He also uses it for swimming which other Garmins are not designed for.

"Generally this device is very good. The only thing that really disappointed me is ..." - by Janis Lielpeteris
Generally this device is very good. The only thing that really disappointed me is the fact that I can not prepare grid for new waypoints on my computer and then send this information to device. Now I have to press buttons on device for 50-60 times to prepare grid for one waypoint! Is it modern way to do such a simple thing? But this is the only thing I dislike.

"Fitness tracking perfection" - by Adam Hall
I bought this watch because of the incredibly long battery life in GPS mode (24h). As an ultramarathon runner, I need a watch which can last at least 12 and ideally 24 hours in GPS mode and the Fenix 5 is that watch! I considered the Fenix 5 plus, but it turns out that this newer edition of the watch actually has a shorter battery life, so I decided to stick with the original Fenix 5. I wear the watch everyday as a fitness tracker. It tracks your daily steps, heart-rate and activities as well has having a handy altimeter and barometer which is very useful for those long trail runs and hikes in the hills. Furthermore, the watch looks fantastic and rugged and very smart. I went for the silver edition with the black strap because the black version looks a bit like a Casio G-shock, and apparently the ... full review

"So happy" - by SMutti
Love it. Had to get a leather strap as alergic to the silicone one. I never want to take it off. Well worth the money.

Went for a hike somewhere new and used hhe GPS to find our way back, brilliant. Speedy delivery too.

"Great Product, I upgraded from a Garmin 610 Forerunner ..." - by Kevin Willsher (Southampton, UK)
Great Product, I upgraded from a Garmin 610 Forerunner and this product is a massive step up in terms of function, reliability and connect features. Love the automatic uploads to Strava especially! I have stepped up my training quite a bit the past year and this watch has everything you need for the more serious runner. Highly recommended.

"Distance to the green." - by Mrs Lumley-Frank
I liked the clarity of the distances on the golf courses, but dislike the fact that it does not always automatically advance from hole to hole, unless one is in a position to pass the men’s tee.

"Quite possibly my favourite watch of all time" - by MJ Thompson (UK)
I'd been looking for an activity tracker since new year just because I like the idea of being metric'd up. After spending a while looking, I opted for a Garmin Vivosmart HR, having had a Forerunner 305 and 410 in the past. That sadly went back after a couple of days due to inaccurate HR monitoring (review left on Amazon). I had seen the Vivoactive over the last few months but intially wanted the wrist based HR. Having found that to be less accurate than I wanted, I changed my search criteria and decided to go for the Vivoactive.

I won't hark on about all the features as you can read up on them in more detail on the Garmin website. What I will do is address some of the more negative points I read whilst reviewing.

Poor battery life. Not sure why some people are saying they are only getting 7 ... full review
