"Box Delux" - by Kindle Customer (IRVINE, AYRSHIRE)
Everything works easily and well, I've been using various GPS devices for ten years, watches, apps, hand held, they all do a great job, but the watches are the handiest by far. This one is fabulous.

"Distance to the green." - by Mrs Lumley-Frank
I liked the clarity of the distances on the golf courses, but dislike the fact that it does not always automatically advance from hole to hole, unless one is in a position to pass the men’s tee.

"Excellent product" - by Amazon Customer
I had a Fitbit and a Garmin S2. This now combines 2 products so I don’t have to wear 2 watches! The Garmin is far more accurate than the Fitbit, although I now have to work harder to hit my target steps!! It also starts quicker than the S2, so when I don’t switch the golf on until my first shot I don’t have to wait ages to get yardages. I prefer the Fitbit software over the Garmin, but everything else is much better on the Garmin. I was very unimpressed with the Fitbit customer service - but haven’t had to use Garmin's so can’t compare this aspect.

"Great all round watch" - by michaelmcg
Having primarily purchased the watch for golf and running, I have found myself wearing it day to day. Apart from being stylish, it can be used as a smart watch to a point. Receiving texts and phone calls etc.
As a golf watch, it is as good as you will get anywhere on the market. Yardage’s for anywhere on the golf course are spot on and easy to identify. You also enter putts and fairways hit. A couple of downsides to the watch are that you can not pull overall data over different rounds such as average drives, fairways hit, or missed to what side. Also, and this is the main reason I was attracted to the purchase, the auto shot tracker could definitely do with tweaking. Tracking driving distance is generally spot on but as the watch doesn’t track where you are in the green for approach shots or sometimes ... full review

Detailed Review:
I had an Approach S1 before this, which was a great watch but didn't have layup, hazard or pin views and, after about 4 years of solid use, and is now exhibiting a measuring error of about 10-15 yds. I’m not sure why, perhaps some water got in, but after 4 years of pretty much weekly use I can’t complain - it’s been a great watch. In comparison the G10 is about £10-£15 dearer, but I think well worth the extra given the additional features.

The G10 comes provided with a printed quick start manual, but this only gives you the main pointers for using the device. The menus ... full review

"The item worked first time out of the box and ..." - by Ronald Jay (Spain)
The item worked first time out of the box and gave accurate distances to the greens. I found the lay-up feature a little difficult to understand, and, this being my first golf gps, I regret now not getting a hand-held device to show distance to hazards, etc. Overall, it does what is expected very effectively and it has certainly improved my club selection and scores.

"Good watch" - by Samuel Smith
All maps etc and yardages very accurate on all of my local courses.
Charge lasts easily a round of golf, if yours doesn't maybe you're either taking too many shots or taking too long.
The swing trainer is basic but effective.
The shot count feature i've found is poor. It's showing mostly that i come in way under par and although i wish this be true, it isn't the case.

"Does what it says on the tin." - by Mr. C. F. Mcewan (Edinburgh, UK)
My previous golf GPS was a Shotmiser - which I loved. But it appears that the company went bust and my unit is just a door stop now.

I decided to go for an inexpensive unit (compared to my last one) and the Garmin Approach S1 seemed to fit the bill. It does.

I love how it knows where I am and automatically downloads the relevant course. I love how it knows when I have finished a hole and moved to the next (adjacent) tee. I love how I don't need an awkward holder attached to my trolley which makes viewing the numbers a bit of a trial.

I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

"Good Buy." - by Libra
I am not a top class golfer, but the Garmin SP2 is all I need on a golf course. I am delighted with mu purcgase.

"Quite possibly my favourite watch of all time" - by MJ Thompson (UK)
I'd been looking for an activity tracker since new year just because I like the idea of being metric'd up. After spending a while looking, I opted for a Garmin Vivosmart HR, having had a Forerunner 305 and 410 in the past. That sadly went back after a couple of days due to inaccurate HR monitoring (review left on Amazon). I had seen the Vivoactive over the last few months but intially wanted the wrist based HR. Having found that to be less accurate than I wanted, I changed my search criteria and decided to go for the Vivoactive.

I won't hark on about all the features as you can read up on them in more detail on the Garmin website. What I will do is address some of the more negative points I read whilst reviewing.

Poor battery life. Not sure why some people are saying they are only getting 7 ... full review

This was my first ever golf watch and it's helped so much with little things like club selection and hazard awareness on new courses

"Improves my game and easy access to any course I have" - by garhel
Does as it says on the tin, yardage helped my game immediately, able to check my messages on IPhone through it, only downside is it can take two or three swipes to unlock it.
