"ESSENTIAL FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD STUDIES STUDENTS !" - by Anna
This is a must buy for uni students for Early Childhood Studies ! I bought this book as I’m new to EYFS and it just breaks down the aims and the principles. This book provides the essential theories and practices for Early Childhood and links to theorists. It also has recommended further readings after every chapter. I am love with this book.

"I, a grandmother, really wanted to have a go at this too!" - by Katharine Kirby (HELSTON, Cornwall United Kingdom)
This literacy workbook offers a truly fun way to learn - you can play as you fill in the pages. I enjoy using it with my five-year-old grandson, he doesn't seem to realise it is a lesson.

The notes to parents and carers for each topic include a teaching tip, key vocabulary, and extension activity. It is meant for term two of the reception year so would be an ideal Christmas gift to a September entrant this year.

The introduction explains perfectly how to use the book, how to pace the project and advise the child on method. It would equally well work I think for adult literacy/ teaching English as a foreign language. The pictures could be coloured in too to to extend the involvement.

Having this to try has inspired me to get other books from the series. Working together with s small child is very rewarding and takes some ... full review

"Phonics - great for Reception children" - by L. mckay (scotland)
These books from Schofield & Sims are fantastic.

From a reputable school supplier - they have been in the education business for years so I would trust their content.

Great price £2.50.

The series is split in to 3 curriculum areas: mathematics, literacy and understanding the world. Which covers most of the Reception curriculum.

The activities are easy to complete - there are notes for parents and carers to keep the adults on the right line.

We are using with our grandson who has just started school - the only tiny point we have noted is the pictures are a tad tiny for colouring but as this is not the aim of the book we are ok with this.

Lots of fun activities to make learning fun.

Highly recommended series of books to help your little one through their first year.
