"Love LUMIX" - by Mrs Margaret C Bond
Only one comment I would make is that they have gone back to the on/off button instead of a slide butting which means it is verity easy to turn the camera off at a crucial moment. otherwise a lovely little camera.

"It does exactly what you want, and does it very well." - by ken
This wasn't the camera I was looking for. I wanted one with a rechargeable Lithium battery because my last camera used to eat batteries. Not so with this little beauty I can load it with a couple of alkaline batteries and shoot away to my hearts content. Now I see the wisdom of Nikon. If the batteries expire, I don't have to find a socket and wait a couple of hours for it to charge, I just buy some more batteries and whack them in.
When it comes to using the camera, I've never found one that is easier to use. It really is a matter of point and shoot. The 5X zoom can be operated from the shutter button. Even starting the video recording is a single button press.
You get High definition pictures, short video capability with sound. The LCD screen is not clear in bright sunlight ... full review

"Zoom is excellent" - by J. Knappett (London, UK)
Good zoom camera. I love the compactness together with the extreme zoom. It works well to watch birds with, for example.

"The best small compact camera available" - by G Hooper
Being a bit of a gadget fetishist I have owned way too many compact cameras in my time. Of all of them this is the best small compact camera that I have tried.

The real selling point of this camera is it's size and weight. It is a truly compact camera and even for it's diminutive size it is very light. Packed into this small camera is a long zoom lens and a host of features. However, this would all count for nothing if it didn't deliver in terms of picture quality. Overall, considering the type of camera and it's price the image quality is very good indeed.

This is primarily a great camera for outdoor use. Its size and weight make it incredibly portable and the image quality in bright light is very good. To top it off it is easy to use (the auto modes generally ... full review

"A very good camera for a perfect price" - by R. Adams (United Kingdom)
The A5000, in terms of features and image quality is probably unsurpassed at this price point. It offers a large APC sized sensor in a very small package providing a high resolution, low noise solution that can fit in your jacket pocket.

The tilt screen is excellent for taking one’s own picture (I’m too old for the word selfie) and the A5000 feels good in hand despite its compact size. Focusing performs well for static/slow subjects and accuracy is very good even in low light. Usual mirrorless perks such as face recognition help matters even further. A nice little bonus is that the pop-up flash can be manipulated to bounce of the ceiling.

Digging deep into the camera's menus reveals many layers of function which I suspect some will find superfluous. While the A5000 is hardly difficult to use, it is pretty unsatisfying. ... full review
