"Nice legs, shame about the head" - by Brian Chichester (West Sussex)
There is a market for a compact, portable tripod weighing about 1 kg, 30 cm collapsed length and extending to 120-130 cm high. The buyers are most likely serious photographers using lightweight mirrorless cameras. The class leading product is the Sirui T-025X, which ticks all the boxes and weighs an astonishing 0.8 kg. The drawback is that it currently costs £180. If you can afford that, stop reading now and go and buy it.
For those like myself who are seeking a cheaper way to tripod nirvana, I have some good news: this Amazon tripod could be – just could be – a credible competitor to the Sirui, but only if you can compromise a little. The price is less than a third of the Sirui, the carbon fibre legs are light and rigid and the leg locks seem to be positive and reliable, what more could you ask? Well actually ... full review

"Sturdy and stable tripod even in windy weather" - by Amazon Customer
A very stable and strong tripod that hold DSLR with a heavy lens well while I was taking time lapse in Lake District high mountain area when the winds blowing and start snowing, but doesn't really affect just how stable it is, would recommend this for outdoor use, noted it's not a compact size, its lightweight but quite large.

"Added stability" - by Graeme
It is lightweight and great that it is a monopod aswell as a tripod. The quick release buttons for the legs and camera are great for fast set up and positioning. It is the first one i bought but the quality is better than i hoped for and will be ideal to take fishing

"Very bendy and useful" - by PeabodyPoole (London, United Kingdom)
These seem to be common new designs for tripods and they make sense as they are so versatile. Fits my normal camera as well as my gopro and it can go just about anywhere. It's not light so you wouldn't want to take it everywhere but if you were going somewhere you knew you wanted to take lots of family shots it would be useful. The legs are very flexible but stiff so they stay where you bend them. There's a few attachments to add different devices but I didn't need them.

"great value tripod" - by Mark
I got this for two purposes. First and primarily for some of my vlogging and drone flying camera work and secondly it's proving very useful for my laser aligning tool for work!

It's a robust tripod with a built in level on the main body itself. The head does not feature a level so you'll have to take your own for crucial work. The quick release clip works well and feels solid once engaged. The legs lock and unlock easily and securely and extend to xxx height which is about nose level with me so I'll have no problems there.

I'm unlikely to use the built in monopod but it's great to see it in there and increases the flexibility of the tripod. All tighteners are easy to operate but hold securely and I've had no instances of slippage.

There some nice touches such as the bag/weight hook at the bottom of the ... full review

"Good value inexpensive tripod." - by R. F. Stevens (Ickenham UK)
This Hama Star 63 is a good lightweight tripod, suitable for a small DSLR or binoculars. It is only rated for a 4kg load, but the thicker legs than the lighter Hama Star 61 (3kg load) are a significant improvement, and hanging the camera kit bag etc from the hook makes the whole thing a lot more stable.

All the moving parts can be clamped to prevent shake rattle or roll, and while the less-than-smooth head is not really intended for live tilting or panning of video it is easy to make quick adjustments for a sequence of still shots or binocular views. The spirit levels are accurate enough to match the level sensor in my camera.

The various clamps work well, but the rubber feet tend to move about on a polished floor as weight changes, partly because the legs flex a bit and partly because the rubber is not at ... full review

"Great Tripod - Highly Recommended" - by P. Jones (Peterborough, England.)
For the money, this is a great tripod. Does everything I wanted it to. Tried two cheaper tripods from Amazon before I purchased this one and frankly the quality was cheap and nasty. Both were returned for a refund. In this case, it is worth paying just that little bit extra to get a better quality product. Hence five stars!

"I’m happy to recommend this I’m going to be using this a lot. For this price, it does everything you’d want. Absolutely astound" - by Faye (london)
Absolutely astounded by this Tripod and Mono-pod. I’ve been looking and trying out various models at my local photography store, but decent stable lightweight model seemed out of my price range. This Tripod is exactly what I needed to take shots with my Canon 70D and Video Camera.
It’s very compact and folds up into a nice little-zipped carry bag. The tripod comes with a small fabric cover for the head and a manual with example positions
And it's super easy to remove one of the legs when required to make into a mono pod.At the bottom of the centre column, you can untwist the cover to reveal a thread. One of the legs is cleared marked for monopod use and is removable by untwisting and screws right into the centre column.

The ball head comes with a standard quick release place and can rotate 360 degrees. Once you’ve locked it in place ... full review

"Extremely sturdy and yet lightweight" - by Lee (Southport)
Extremely sturdy and yet lightweight this tripod is exactly what I have been looking for.

The legs extend to any length you want and the built in spirit level on the top ensures that its sat perfectly level, even on unstable ground. There is a hook underneath the tripod to all you to hang your bag from, also found this helps weight the tripod down on windy days.

It come complete with a carry case as well as an adaptor to allow you to use your smart phone which is very useful.

All in all a great buy and would definitely recommend.

"This model of the pod is awesome and by far the best made one yet" - by Neil Franklin (england)
This model of the pod is awesome and by far the best made one yet ..I could not believe the build quality of this and it looks like you could throw it off a bridge and it would still work !
I bought this for a large Canon with a 200mm lens and it never even looked like it was straining and of course it is so useful for any size and weight .

Why bother with a small one when a bigger one covers the whole range from a point and shoot to a big ass camera, even a video camera ! :)
Of course in order to have a more versatile pod you really do need to add the JOBY swivel head (as my one in picture ) because without this the pod is a bit pants :(

I can fully recommend this one for all your camera needs

"Works well" - by Chris
Already have a gorillapod but its getting a bit worn now and beginning to collapse under the weight of my dslr. I got this one and its actually very good, the legs are grippy and flexible but also stiff enough for my camera. Also comes with a gopro and phone mount but I won't be using them.

"A brilliant purchase" - by Yusuf Idris (UK)
Fantastic product. This piece has been greatly engineered for maximum comfort and efficiency. The stand is light weight, strong and easy to manage. It's is able to increase in size massively due to the extendable legs and does not take up extra space as they can be slid back in. I would definitely recommend product.

"Originally bought this for travel, now use it all the time" - by C. Wesson (Hampshire, UK)
For a casual amateur / occasional photographer like myself. This is perfect.
I do have a bigger, more sturdy tripod, but I actually find this one easier to use.
It is so quick to set up, pack away, so small to carry that I now just use this one and I take it everywhere I take my camera.

It is a bit flimsy, but I am very happy with it. Although I do have a lightweight camera (Sony NEX-5 + lenses).
