"Great value easy-to-use little slide scanner" - by Andrew D. Lewis (London, UK)
Fully agree with the other positive reviews. Quick to get up and running and surprised at how fast I can scan my slides - first 400 done in two afternoons (with brightness and RGB adjustment on some) and looking forward to doing the remaining 7-800. I thought it would be a real chore but I'm actually enjoying it. Image quality maybe a little below the mark for the real pros but I'm perfectly satisfied and I'd imagine most would be also. Now tracking down the email addresses of the 40 years worth of old friends I'm rediscovering as I scan so I can remind them of their younger selves! Best value £39.99 I've spent in a while. Example scanned pics attached.

"DIY Slide copying" - by Kris
So easy to use, very intuitive. Instructions are included to explain the menu items.
I have been using the bulk Slide feeder to copy my 2000 slides, but 2 other feeders come with the kit where you can load 4 individual slides or the other holder for a strip feeding negative films or transparency.

Has saved me a fortune, many companies charge up to 50p to copy a slide

"Very easy to use straight out of the box." - by David Ney (Ipswich)
love this negative scanner. I have digitised around 200 35mm slides and 1,200 film negative pictures so far. Printed photos are very sharp and every bit as good as the originals with good colour balance.. Don't forget to get an SD card. 16meg card will hold thousands of pictures.

The slide trays are a bit fiddly to use but you very quickly get into a rhythm loading the negative strips. Images can be edited and flipped using a number of photo utilities and the SD card will retain the edits.

"Ok but with caveats" - by Ian1956
For the price this is worth 4 stars, though only just. It is a little awkward to find your way around this initially, since the instructions are sparse and do not even cover all that the scanner can do. The quality of the scans is reasonable, given the price, though I cannot see how the manufacturers justify a claim of 14 megapixels. The maximum resolution that I can obtain is 2944 × 4416 for 35mm slides and negatives, dropping to just 2048 × 1536 for 110 film. File size is from 500kb to 2.2MB. If there is a way of increasing the resolution, it remains a mystery. On the plus side, the slide/negative holders with their magnetic fastenings work well. There is also a brush/pad for cleaning dust from inside the scanner, though though this is mentioned nowhere in the instructions, and its function has to be guessed at,

"Both card and thin plastic mounts are fine. To clarify the instruction sheet" - by Roy B
DIGITNOW FILM SCANNER

I already have a flat bed scanner installed and I didn’t want to install my previous film scanner as well because of past problems. This is why I purchased the DigitNow, because it doesn’t need installing and there won’t be any unwanted changes to my system.

I find it a marvellous scanner to use, but only after a slight modification. The film holder needed attention at the exit end. A “step” was filed away using a small flat file and also the width increased slightly. My 135 film strips now slide unhindered and don’t require so much handling. The film holder can remain in the scanner and only needs to be opened when fitting either of the smaller film inserts to it.

The slide holder has not been a problem, except to say that some of my old slides are mounted in quite thick frames ... full review

"good product Mac users - this can work" - by Amazon Customer
This is an edited review as I I have Mac Sierra 13.10 and the disk provided doesn’t work with Mac books. I contacted the seller who sent me software which I down loaded but didn’t allow me to save or print the images produced. After second contact and fresh software this works perfectly so for the price bear with the seller and let them rectify any compatibility issues. Quality not bad make sure it’s clean and relatively dust free.

"A no-nonsense buy" - by Ralax
[[ASIN:B0000D81D8 Braun Novamat E130 Projector with 85mm f2.8 MC Lens]]
This is solidly built and compact. Performance is excellent from brightness and sharpness point of view. I felt somewhat misled, thinking I was purchasing a machine with IR remote control. In fact this machine has a wired control that can either remain in place on top of the projector or easily removed (once you realise) for use to a distance dictated by the wire, about 1 metre long. The projector stores easily on a modest shelf. I feel a little uneasy that no carrying case/bag or lens cove is provided, as I visualise using this in various places. Delivery was prompt and efficient.

"Fantastic resolution and colour reporduction and all automatic." - by Amazon Customer (England)
I hired this scanner because I had a big job to do scanning old slides that were beginning to degrade. The scanner arrived in just a few days from Germany. It came with all cables and software, which loaded onto Windows 10 without any issues. I found that there was a large number of options regarding the quality of the scan and also the option of a dirt removing program. I chose to use the highest quality scan and the dirt removal program. Essentially this resulted in TIFF files of around 170Mb each. The dirt removing program worked remarkably well but was not perfect. Many of the slides had grown crystals on them and some of these were not identified as dirt but they were easy to remove in Photoshop.

If you chose to go down the route that I did with the maximum resolution and dirt removal you can expect ... full review

"Plustek OpticFilm8200iSE Film Scanner" - by Norman Smart
It was with some degree of trepidation that I placed an order for this scanner, as some of the reviews were not particularly good - but did so as it was the type of scanner that I was interested in. I am very happy to say that the scanner software and Silverfast software installed first time and I did not experience any bother at all, (Dell XPS i7, Win 7 x64 Home Prem). Silverfast found the scanner immediately and works well. As mentioned by another reviewer, there are two installation discs, one for the scanner and one for Silverfast. They are both stored in a single disc box - the Silverfast activation code is printed on the front cover of the disc box - so don't lose the box!

I still need to spend some time to get familiar with Silverfast, as the documentation supplied is not overly comprehensive. My initial ... full review

"I downloaded the free app & it all works so easily. The quality is perfectly fine for my needs ..." - by Chado (UK)
As a basic scanner to enable transfer of my fathers old slides it really did the job well. I downloaded the free app & it all works so easily. The quality is perfectly fine for my needs to catalogue his slides & you could probably improve with some basic photo editing software.
