"Great solution for console gaming on computer monitor!" - by Cú Oiriail (Ireland)
I got this for my PS3 to play it via my computer monitor which has no speakers. It hooked up easily to the optical slot, powered from the front USB and plugged my speakers in and worked perfectly.

It is small and tidy and hidden nicely behind the console now and I'm very happy with it!

"Great piece of kit" - by Mr Ian R. Sewell
Great little bit of kit which has allowed me to connect PS3 to my home cinema to play Blu-ray Discs for a few pounds rather than having to shell out for a dedicated blu-ray cinema system. Everything is contained in the box and connects and works in minutes. Power is taken from one of the usb sockets on the PlayStation. Only criticism is the very bright power led but a small piece of tape solves that. Recommended purchase. Can’t comment on reliability or longetivity as only installed it but I guess due to my infrequent use it should last a while.

"Very Crisp Sound" - by Christopher H.
Top quality. Bought this for a gaming chair. Previously just using the standard audio out (aux headphone jack) to a wireless transmitter but the quality was bad - had a very 'grainy' sound and had to keep tv volume down and chair volume up for best quality. Now with this, I go through optical out, to the converter, use the volume correction on the converter and then aux out to the transmitter. There is absolutely no lag, the audio is crisp (even with the converter turned up to full volume) and the product feels great quality. Very impressed, worth the money.

"Great little converter to use if you only have HDMI connectors on you TV." - by Romualdas
Used this converter to connect my PS2 to TV, cause didn't had any composite outputs on TV. Really good item and good quality, love it's small design, you can easily hide it behind TV. It's very easy to use, just connect all the cables, choose required quality and you ready to go. If you don't have spare USB ports, as I did, you could use old phone charger with USB output, just make sure it's not fast charge ones, cause it might damage converter. I've used 1A phone charger and it works great.

"Inexpensive solution to a potentially costly problem!" - by john hamilton
Having just bought a top of the range 4k UHDef Smart TV I was disappointed to realise that the only audio out for an external sound system was optical audio. I have an 8 year old superb B&O cinema surround sound system but it only has 3.5mm audio jacks for output, so the options were to find a solution or spend another fortune on a new sound system. Thanks to this little gem the problem is solved and for £8.95.
It's easy to connect, plug and play simple, and has no perceptible effect on the sound quality from my sound system.
Thank you very much Proxima Direct!!!

Does the job nicely. I've had this for my xbox and used the optical audio out from the Xbox to this great peace of kit, also have used the coaxial audio out from the t.v. that also works really well . Would recommend this

"Solid build quality, good for PS4 Slim owners that need an optical output" - by J. J. Sparks (United Kingdom)
Works as advertised, used this to split out the optical audio from HDMI on my PS4 Slim into some Turtle Beach headphones. Good build quality, didn't feel at all cheap, gold plated connections (for what it's worth), no dropouts or pops etc. Recommended for people with a PS4 slim that lacks an optical output. The only issue I have come across, is that my TV no longer auto switches channel to the PS4 now I am going via this box, but I've since changed my set-up anyway so no need to explore any further - worth considering this slight niggle if this is important though.

"Does exactly what it says on the tin." - by Chris B (Rugby)
Works great on a new model Samsung TV that only has optical audio out - I needed to connect it to an older amp which only had phono inputs. Using the USB cable means that it comes on and goes off with the TV so no wasted power. Remember to remove the plastic dust caps from the optical cable before inserting into the converter and source device!

"It Works!" - by Alias
This actually works! Attach the enclosed USB cable to the tv USB and the av/dc connection on converter. Light appears on converter. Attach long cable (remove plastic buds) from converter toslink connection to the tv optical digital audio out. Attached my rf headphone cable to the headphone symbol on converter, ensured headphone stand plugged in to the wall/extension cable. Turned headphones on and eureka! Ensure sound settings on TV set to PCM not Dolby. I can set my LG smart tv to “internal speakers and external source “ so everyone can listen.

"PS4 slim" - by Florent M.
If your wondering if it works for your ps4 then your exactly where you need to be. I bought this with a slight doubt that it will work but it's works as it should. Using PC speakers aux cable that usually connects to a PC I connected it to this device as it has the input.

"Superb piece of kit" - by Music Man
This is an absolutely brilliant piece of kit!

I'm using it with a Panasonic TV where the Lindy is powered from the USB and takes signal via the optical output. The Lindy then delivers two channel stereo through normal phono leads to my high quality stereo amplifier. It's a stunning result.

Note especially that this little device is not just a normal DAC - it contains the vital Dolby decoder which enables you to get stereo from all the HD TV channels whereas a normal DAC will only give sound from standard definition TV.

This is why it's a bit more costly than the cheapest little DACs - it does a whole lot more for the money!! I think it's a bargain at the price. In comparison a good stereo AV amplifier like Arcam's SR250 will set you back £2,500

"Excellent product" - by Michael Lam
I got this for my PS4 to play it via my computer monitor, as the refresh rate is much better for a monitor rather than TV Problem was monitor does not have any speakers. It hooked up easily to the optical slot, powered from the front USB and plugged my speakers in and worked perfectly.
The sound comes out crispy i would recommend this for sure.

So I am glad I bought it and I was extremely pleased to get an Email from Linkfor making sure I was happy with it.This was a wonderful touch. It is pity other companies don't give such a caring after sales service

"Does what it says on the tin." - by CRS
Good bit of kit. Converts optical audio into analogue just as expected. I'm using it to covert optical outputs from my TV into a surround sound
System, and it works perfectly.
Prompt delivery in packaging that could be posted through my door rather than me having to collect from a depot.
Great customer service too. Followed up the purchase with a short 'Thank You' email. Doesn't take much to do and makes so much difference to the customer experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for the same thing.

"Plug-in & Play" - by Molecular Audio (UK)
I purchased this DAC for use with converting the optical audio output from my Samsung KS Series TV into a headphone output for my speakers. Happy to report his product works flawlessly. It feels solid & has great construction. The volume control knob is smooth & has linear control so you can fine tune it. The DAC automatically turns on to the Optical Input, so there's no delay of switching modes.

I'd highly recommend this DAC over the Avantree one - this is a far superior, better built & has way more value for money.
