"very clear. It was almost 12 inches."

you can turn off both displays for total darkness, something available in very few clock radios. Second, the radio is decent and has a digital tuner. Third, a small footprint. Fourth, an easy to find snooze button-even in complete darkness. And last, the alarm can be preset for a five day work week or the weekend and when you turn it off it merely silences the alarm for that day. This is an excellent little clock, with clear displays. We've settled on using the projection at night, which is quite clear but not intrusive with its red lights.
