Got this for around 300 odd quid on amazon when it was reduced. I got the version with the bin dock and glad I did. We have mostly wooden floors with a few rugs and some large boundaries between rooms. No pets but two kids who do a good job of thinking we’re there to pick up mess after them. The bot takes a few goes to get over the lip between rooms but manages it no problem; the lips are easily an inch high and in a cut off ramp shape. The specs say it shouldn’t be able to handle them but it does. The ability to create multiple maps means doing the upstairs is simple too. There are more carpets upstairs and it seems to do a good clean of them. For a 3 bed Victorian terraced house the battery is only down to 70% to do each floor using the turbo clean mode (why use anything but the highest suction setting!). Haven’t used the mop function and don’t intend to but for hoovering it’s well worth the money and I love the fact that I can come home from work and the floors have magically cleaned themselves. Like all robo vacuum cleaners you need to remove stray stuff from the floors and lift tricky chairs etc so it gets a clear run at it but that’s a small price to pay. If you grew up without a dishwasher, have bought one and think they’re fabulous inventions then you’re going to love one of these. And yes you’ll need to run a handheld hoover over the corners where it hasn’t been able to get to or where you’ve programmed a no-go zone. Relatives got a robovac years ago and said it meant they only had to get the hoover out once every fortnight as it never really cleaned thoroughly (and you could tell!). Well, the tech has clearly moved on cos I don’t think we’ll need to get the big hoover out except once every couple of months, and likely just for the bits it can’t reach. The app is really good and worth guddling around in to explore all the functionality. Get one, you won’t be disappointed. I picked the q7 cos I couldn’t see much of a difference in spec from the s7 to justify the price jump to the s7.
