So many basic faults
5 November 2018
So, it looks lovely - the screen is great and it sounds good.
But what's the screen for? Amazon don't seem to know - there's barely a point to it and that's down to some baffling and downright incompetent decisions from Amazon.
First, Prime Video - works fine. But there's no way to browse it! you have to say "play the office, season 1 episode three" - what if i don't know if what i want is on prime? I have a 10" screen right in front of me - why on earth isn't there a way to browse Prime video on it?
Netflix - doesn't work, you can sign in (and browse!) but trying to play a video makes you try to download the app from the play store. Broken
BBC Iplayer - All videos stop after a couple of minutes play. Whether live TV or a catchup - so, also broken
Plex - Works using web interface - but here's the new kicker - the Show times out after a few minutes as it thinks you're not doing anything and takes you back to the home screen. So, also broken.
Youtube - Works but clunky (admittedly, not Amazons fault)
So there you go, looks great, sounds great - but you can't really use it for anything that you can't do on an echo £180 cheaper.
