As a Playstation 1/2/3 fanboy for many years, I ventured to the dark side and picked up an Xbox 360 and it changed my life. Suddenly, I realised what a paid online service actually got you. It got you a decent interface, with great comms and a fluid gameplay experience. Of course, I couldn't let down Sony as I know they like my money, so I did buy a PS4. It's been fun. But again, their online effort seemed to be behind what was already available on the 360.
After all of my sons mates were harping on about Rocket League on the XB1, I bit the bullet and got the XB1S. I have to say I'm happy I did. The online experience is once again just that bit more polished than Sony seem capable of producing in the last 20 years. The interface (in my opinion) is all over the place (literally). It's hard to know what icon thing-a-me-jig you've got selected half the time.Work that out, and you'll be in good shape!
So get one. With all the games available, and many coming down in price, it's a pretty sweet time to be gaming again. When the initial next-gen consoles came out, they were thwarted with a few titles. Not so now. You're spoiled !
Of course, it's a blu-ray player and media hub as well if that's your thing. So it'll sit will in the front room giving you access to all that good stuff.
I love the Xbox One S. It is great for playing Fifa 17 on and watching movies/videos with its 4K Blu-ray player. I would definitely recommend people to buy it, because of its 4K Blu-ray player and its high dynamic range, plus its great for gameplay. Would make a great Christmas present! I have spent a long weekend with my new Xbox One S and I must say for something so small it's a zippy little beast. I got the FIFA 17 version and the game is quite an evolution from the last FIFA game I played which was 15. The frostbite engine really gives the game a better and more realistic flow to the graphics. The console had a 1300mb update on the first start up and FIFA was 43gb and took all evening to install. The operating system on the Xbox One is a little bit clunky and takes a. It of getting used to but runs very smoothly. The controller is the same lay out as it's 360 counterpart but has a very strange texture on the thumb sticks which takes a bit of getting used to. One of the most unique features of the controller is the rumble motors in the triggers whilst playing Watch Dogs the motors in the triggers rumble when the gears shifted in the cars which was a nice touch. I have a few more games on the way and I am looking forward to seeing what the console can do. I haven't played very much online and I haven't played any shooters which I am told are better on the Xbox in comparison to the PlayStation. But so far it's a very good console and for the price it's well worth it and have recommended it to a few friends who don't have a current generation console.
I bought this as an impulse buy on black friday but it turned out to be worth it, it replaced my 1st gen xbox one by being smaller, quiter and not having a power brick the size of a house hiding somewhere. The only thing this console is missing was the kinect port since I already owned one from the old xbox one. The fifa 17 was a great addition. Not a huge fifa fan but it's a great game to play with friends.
Everything is well just as expected from a console. Although the 500GB is easily spent on around 10 games and the crazy huge updates. No games will play out of the box you need to install them fully and update it to the latest version(unless you disable internet connection). Gone are the days when you could put in a disc and just play the game
Great console and great game. This provides great value as acts a blue ray player too therefore the packed features of the console itself combined with fifa17 make this a steel. The game itself may take a while to download but it's worth the wait and provides many features and life like game play.
Bought for husband as he is the gamer, all works fine, and easy to set up. Need good wifi, as some games need connection. You can access Tv through the console, which is handy for a bedroom with no aerial
