A great little radio to use!

I have been using this VQ Blighty Portable Digital Radio in grey for nearly a month now and from what I've experienced it's been great but it does come with a few setbacks. When I first received this product I was delighted by a nice looking box and it was packaged well. With your VQ Blightly Radio you also get a Micro USB Charging Cable, 3.5mm Jack in-ear earphones and an Instruction Booklet.
The radio itself is quite stylish, probably one of the best looking portable radios I have ever seen. The radio itself is lightweight and the build quality is solid , it fits comfortably in your hand while you are using the radio or fits nicely in your pocket. The radio also has a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery which means it can be recharged and there is no need for changing the batteries; all though some people might not like this.
When you first switch on the radio it will welcome you with it's bright and visible 1.6 inch screen and it will start searching for DAB/DAB+ stations available in your area, once it has picked up the stations you are pretty much good to go! This radio also has an FM function if you happen to be in a weak area for DAB or you just want to use the function for some extra stations you won't find on DAB. While I was using my radio I found that the signal I was picking up on both DAB and FM was really good and that it can pick up weaker signals well.
Battery life of this radio is advertised as up to 10 hours of playback and I am pleased to say that this is correct and it indeed it lasts close to 10 hours. To save battery life you can alter the way the display works, you can have the backlight on for a certain amount of time and this ranges from 10 to 180 seconds and an option for always on but having it on for longer is not recommended as it will shorten the battery life.
The earphones that come with the unit are used also as an aerial for the radio, I would recommend using your own earphones though as the sound quality of the earphones it comes with are not that great! With my unit I was using the Sony EX650AP In-ear earphones which improves the quality of the sound but not greatly because the units sound is not the best and has no EQ setting but there is a setting for DAB stations which is called DRC which can improve the sound a little. There is a problem I found with the unit; it will not work properly with earphones that have an in-line mic so I had to use an adapter for it to work properly.
There are also a few problems I have had with this radio while I've been using it over the month. Firstly the casing especially on the back is prone to scratching quite easily which means you don't get that nice black finish because overtime it covers in scratches which is a shame because the unit looks really nice! I've also found that when the radio on DAB mode struggles to find a signal or you are going through the stations it can sometimes freeze for about 10 seconds and it becomes a pain when you are trying to switch stations. My final down side to the radio is I was finding it would reset as if it was the first time I was using the radio so all presets and stations were lost and it was scanning to get the stations in the area again but this has only happened twice but it is annoying.
Overall I would recommend this radio because of it's style and it does the job really well, it is easy to setup and use. The battery life is as advertised (up to 10 hours) and the radio is good at picking up weaker signals and strong signals. Despite the bad points I have given this radio it is really good for the price.
