Packs a punch but not a surround replacement
16 July 2018
I don’t understand why people moan about the remote. I just paired my Sky remote with it, boom, done, haven’t seen the remote since.
Important to realise this doesn’t have ANY sound modes, it’s just one universal mode. Yet another reason not to have a remote. You just need volume.
I find my experience with the QM4 a bit mixed because I have no real problems with the product, it’s just a bit hit and miss as to when it blows your socks off. For £250 I wanted that sensation at all times but I don’t get it.
You do have to turn the volume up to get the best out of it, and the sounds of bullets etc are very punchy and powerful to the point I get anxious about neighbours complaining, so I end up turning it back down!
I suppose the upshot is that surround sound NEEDS multiple speakers, and this device can never replace a proper 5 or 3 speaker set-up, no matter how many good reviews it gets.
Other than that, pleased, it connects very well with Bluetooth from my iPhone for music, and it IS bassy for a lounge speaker. You have to be living far away from neighbours to have something bassier than this, or just be a terrible person with no compassion for others.
