Great little bath and uses hardly any water. My son loved this from early on and still enjoys now at 5 months. We often share a bath. He sits in his bath in my bath. I can enjoy I warmer bath whilst he has his warm bath
Excellent product, brilliant design first time out little girl actually enjoyed bath time rather than just put up with it! We got this at half the RRP on Amazon daily deal so great value for the money we spent but not sure I'd pay £30 for it when there are cheaper brands of the same style.
Due to the little supporting bump, I would say this is not for a newborn, as it would make it very difficult and awkward to bathe the baby. However, once baby is able to hold it's head up on its own, this little bath is ideal. The bump allows for a much safer bathing environment and the rubber tabs on the base hold the entire tub in place very safely.
The whole thing is very light indeed, which makes it easy to handle. In fact, there is a handle at the top of the tub with which you can hang it up somewhere convenient and due to it being so light, it won't put a strain on the hook at all. However, my only concern is that with it being so light, I question its durability. If it should accidentally get knocked or fall, will it remain intact?
It is deep enough for a baby to have fun in and keep warm and the non-slip back and base add to baby's safety, so you can relax and have fun too. I would say it's a little too big to fit into a conventional sink, in spite of what the pictures seem to show.
What I like most about this tub is the ingenious drain. Rather than a normal plug, which baby could grab and pull, after which you'd have to refill the tub, this is just a flap with a convenient tab you use to lift it up with. When fully drained you simply flip the tab down and you're ready to start again, with no fear of losing the plug.
The design of this baby bath is fabulous and much thought has gone into its concept including the shape, ease of use and storage. It is principally made of white plastic with a smart glossy exterior and a matt finish to the interior, making it therefore less slippery when baby is bathing. It is finished with light blue cushioned rubberised (silicone?) parts to the interior - ideal colours for most homes.
This is quite a deep baby bath and a little bulky. However, its depth will enable water to envelop the baby (0-12 months) and give them security and warmth whilst bathing. It has special features including a soft silicon plug to drain away water and aid cleaning, a slightly padded rubberised back for young baby to lie against in an upright position and a hanging hook for easy carrying and storage. Moreover, as baby begins to sit up, there is a slightly cushioned semi circle for baby’s bottom plus a moulded support ridge to prevent baby slipping.
At the base of the bath there are 6 matching blue rubberised pads to prevent the bath from scratching furniture and also to aid the water draining away.
It has high sides which stop any water coming out when the baby, or even you, splash the water over them, which is always fun. The rubber feet underneath prevent the bath from slipping, and because these raise the bath a little it makes it easy for the water to drain away, assuming you’re using this in your own bath.
The plug is a real bonus – it makes it easy to empty out the water, and it stays attached to the bath, so there is no danger of you misplacing it. There is no danger of the plug leaking, as you need to lift up the tab to let the water out, but otherwise it is a really good seal. Obviously it only really works if the bath is actually in your bath, but it would also work if you bathed your baby outside in hot weather. (We used to bathe our children outside in summer while they were too small for a proper paddling pool.)
It’s easy to clean, totally smooth inside and out, making it impossible for a baby to hurt themselves.
It has a carry handle, which can also be used to hang the bath from a hook in the bathroom to take up less room.
I wouldn’t use this for a very young baby, as the supporting bump would make laying them down very awkward and unsafe, but for slightly older babies it is perfect; the bump makes it less likely that they will slip, so making it easier for you. The upper limit of 12 months sounds about right.
£30 sounds a bit much, but for a quality item like this it’s worth it.
This is a nice sized baby bath - big enough to accommodate all sizes of newborn, to 12 months; I really can't imagine a one-year-old fitting in our comfortably, though - maybe ten months for the average sized baby.
A ridge on the bottom stops the child from sliding down under the water level, with rubber patches making it even more unlikely (see pictures) It's nice and stable to use, and durable enough to last through the period of time that it's needed.
The only thing is that it's hard to store all these baby items - it doesn't fold down in any way. I suppose you could keep it in the main bath if you don't have much space, but if there was some way it flattened, it would be so much more convenient. This offers better support than the folding bath dividers that are available, though.
Overall, it's a good thing that feels safe and well designed.
