Cracking choice for the price!
on 24 March 2018
I've been using these for just over a month now, I'll usually use them at night but have used them a couple of times in the day too when washing the car and working on the bike. I couldn't give an estimate on battery life as my usage is too scattered, however I've popped these on charge maybe 2 or 3 times during the month of ownership and am yet to hear a low battery warning - though I do only use them for a couple of hours at a time at most.
The sound quality of these is really impressive for the price, thus the 5 stars. I listen to all kinds of music from Irish folk right through to death metal and I'm often finding myself satisfied that I chose these and not other pairs I was considering. My decision to buy these was influenced by both existing customer reviews and also the fact that I've owned Mpow Wolverine earphones for a couple of years, and I was equally impressed by those. The 40mm drivers in these headphones produce a punchy, clear sound. It goes without saying that the quality of these is never going to be on par with top tier headphones, but from Fleetwood Mac through to Skrillex, bass is warm and rumbly, trebles are precise and not sharp, vocals are clear and instruments sound correct. Very impressive no matter what genre is playing.
The built in voice which indicates that the 'phones are powered on, off, pairing, connected and disconnected is the same as the voice on the Wolverines. I was glad to hear this as the voice has a fairly natural British accent and doesn't sound horribly robotic. The headphones will connect to my phone and laptop at the same time allowing me to switch between the 2 seamlessly. Bluetooth calls work well, though the mic is on one of the ear cups meaning that you'll need to speak nice and clearly to be heard well.
The buttons are nice and clicky and are easy to distinguish when wearing the headphones. The + and - buttons will change track and volume with a press and hold respectively, and the middle button acts as a pause and power/pairing button when pressed and held respectively. The padding on the cups and headband is lovely and soft and the finish on the black with grey trim looks really smart.
I own Sennheiser, Pioneer, Onkyo, Wharfedale and AKG audio equipment and use high bitrate sources, so know to appreciate a good sound when playing music, and these headphones certainly impress. I'd recommend them without a shadow of a doubt.
