Not bad ... not not good, either.

A frustrating film to watch. Having seen the trailer, I was expecting a modern idea of those, fairly, simplistic spaghetti-western films of the past: solid, broad plots, but gritty, and a fun watch. What we have here is a film that is trying to be allll sorts of Western film; so we have the expansive vistas, then we have the slow-burn, brooding moments, the cheesy scenery-chewing bits, and, finally, blood and guts all over the place.
Now, this is not to say that you can't have any of that in a Western, but to have it all in one is a little too rich for me.
It's okay, but forgettable. A pity, because you can pick out a number of scenes from Jackson and Russell and Leigh, but they are lost in the soup of the remaining film.
