Have just purchased and listened to this and I do take my hat off to all concerned. Recorded in '67 I believe, it has Caballe sounding sweet with her pianissimos very touching that must have taken a great deal of control. Someone else has spoken of the conductors pushing and pulling but I was not bothered by it nor, perhaps, having even noticed it. With a line up such as this(one of the many miracles of the 70s) it seems harsh to find fault. Being something of a Sutherland nut, I listened out especially for Bergonzi who to my mind, he sounded no more or less better than the Stupenda version of '62. I have no hesitation in recommending this version and am more than happy to have it on my shelves(alongside the many others).
