This is a quality item. I have used various methods for cleaning records which range from wiping it on my sleeve (when I was a teenager!) to using manual non vacuum machines. This is the first one I have used that I thought actually may have been making the records cleaner. I tend to clean everything before I play them so even brand new albums will get a clean.
The vacuum seems to get them dry. You need to experiment a little with the amount of fluid you use but after a while you get to know how much to use. The pads need replacing fairy regularly depending on how dirty your records are to begin with.
My only comment would be that you need some ear defenders so when you are using this. It is incredibly loud and will damage your hearing meaning that any improvement in sound quality from having clean records will be entirely wasted on you as you cannot hear a thing.
My first album to clean was a1967 mono copy of the Beatle's sgt pepper last played on a HMV radio gram at my parents home in 1967. After the simple clean on this machine I placed this my first cleaned LP on to my rega/ naim system and was just amazed. It was a new LP again. and so is every clean album I have cleaned on this machine. all static and grunge have gone to leave the recording clean and clear in sound. Machine is also British made and built to last in amazing design and steel housing. Simple but every bit effective. Go buy one
