Plain White T's are just another pop-punk band. But are they? In some ways, yes. They have the same kind of sound...but wait. There's something different in there that I can't quite put my finger on. Their songwriting has a little more depth and their melodies are catchy, but at the same time, not annoying in the slightest. My favourite songs on this CD are "Stop" (which I particularly love the lyrics for), "What If" and "Radios In Heaven", which happens to be an acoustic-y song which shows that in fact, they're not just another pop-punk band. They're going to be around for a long, long time.
i bought this album after reading the large amount of very complimentary reviews left by listeners at amazon.com, our neighbours over the pond. however, on listening to it, i was very disappointed and found myself skipping almost every track in a vague attempt to see if the next song would be any better than the one before. it's harmless enough, a typical 12 song pop-punk album about chasing girls and breaking hearts, pretty up tempo and as uplifting as any other similar album. but i found it very dull, and tedious, and the lyrics made me cringe on many-an-occasion. don't get me wrong, there are some bits which made me listen quite intently - for example, the start of "your fault" is wonderful. but for every great moment of melody, there are 5 tragic moments. for example, "please don't do this" and "fireworks" are a bit too similar, and "shine" is just a terrible song. it didn't impress me... but if you like 4 chord pop-punk, it may be your kind of thing. try before you buy.
I just have this album 1 week and I think the songs are great. As I never heard of them before and only got to know them through Hey there Delilah,I really do like them.I recommend giving The Plain White T's a listen to
