I wish I didn't have to return it.

I remember when this album was originally released in 1989. I bought it on the strength of their previous albums. Wow, it was something so different. The music press were saying how Beatlesque the album was and to a point I agree. I did buy this at that time on compact disc as we were all told we didn't need records anymore. I was also lucky enough to see T.F.Fs along with Oleta Adams a year or so later at the Silver Cleff concert at Knebworth and they were absolutely brilliant.
Back to my album purchase. I bought this on vinyl it is on of those special half speed master copies for the audiophile. When I removed the record from the sleeve it really looked the real deal. The sleeve itself is great. Well put together. I placed the album on the turntable and placed the arm on it. (Rega RP6 /Denon m.c. Cartridge) well it sounded wonderful ...... for a short time. When it got to later tracks the sound was atrocious, it really sounded like a second hand copy(I'm not suggesting for one minute it was) anyway I looked at it again and it looked as it should brand new. It just sounded so bad, I could not keep this in my collection so returned it for a full refund. I was going to buy another copy but the price has increased by four or five pounds. I don't mind spending twenty five pounds or more on an album I want but it's got too be up to spec which this one wasn't. My star marking isn't for the album content but for the poor quality control. I will buy a copy at some point.
