A really comprehensive collection of Dusty's songs most of which will bring the memories flooding back. One thing I like about this disc is that it doesn't seem to have been remastered and therefore the 60s tone of many tracks is preserved making it very atmospheric. A superb disc.
Everything you would want from a Dusty Springfield compilation. One of the things I love about her is when she sings its as if she is singing just for you, putting the headphones on and dimming the lights, wonderful. The best white soul singer the U.K. ever produced and its all here on this CD.
I was in my early twenties when Dusty was at her best, and have wonderful memories of her voice when wooing the lass that would be my wife (more than 40 years ago!) This CD has the lot, all her greatest hits, just as it says on the tin (sorry, case!). I recently retired and treated us to a Brennon JP7 and now Dusty has pride of place amongst many years of collecting 100's of CD's A truly eclectic collection of Dusty Springfield's songs from the great times we had in the '60's
Dusty Springfield remains one of the most original and iconic singers of the 60s and thereafter. Her voice is as distinctive now as it was when she first started her career. Although Dusty passed away in 1999, her music continues to be admired by her legions of fans. This CD showcases Dusty at the top of her profession, and it remains an all-time favourite of mine. Dusty Springfield truly was in a class of her own, and her music continues to touch the lives of those who admire her body of work.
Brilliant CD compilation of Dusty's classical hits which all fans of Dusty will recognise. Even has the brilliant one with the Pet Shop Boys recorded on it. Marvelous. Have played this CD many times and still love every track. CD arrived in very good condition, well wrapped too. Brilliant.
I had to buy this CD for two reasons; my lifelong friend Bruce who lives now in Oklahoma,USA met up twice with her - firstly in either Glasgow or Liverpool where he took her out to dine and then secondly when she did a show in Tulsa. The other reason is that poor Dusty died rather early in life and I just needed to have her 'by my side' so to speak. I would commend her to you.
Had to buy this when I watched 'Toast' and remembered just how majestic Dusty was. It was a great show but Dusty's voice and music were crucial to its success. Makes you wish you'd been alive in the 60s. 'If you go away' deserves special mention for being fabulous in the extreme. Interestingly, no-one ever attempts to sing Dusty songs on X Factor and there are few cover versions, the notable exception being The Tourists' 'I only wanna be with you'. You can't beat perfection!
