I searched for a long time for the best recording of the four seasons before settling on this. So many violinists rush through the music, trying to score points for playing it as fast as possible. This gives a real appreciation for the music as a whole, and suddenly the slower movements which always sounded boring pop out as beautiful and thoughtful. The tone of his playing is beautiful, and he caresses each phrase - you can hear his love for the music and respect for the composer as he plays. Excellent crisp recording, too. This really is the best version of the four seasons I've heard.
