Great for younger students
12 January 2018
This whole series of Music Theory for Young Musicians is great for younger students. It has everything in one place, only one book required for each grade.
The instructions are clear and concise, and they include lots of exercises, dealing with each concept from various angles, which makes the student learn and understand each concept very well.
Also, thanks to the illustrations and use of colour, these books makes music theory learning seem a little bit less "scary": some of my younger students (8-9 year olds especially) have found some of the other available theory books difficult to use as they are a lot more "academic-looking" and therefore a little off-putting if this makes sense. These, however, they find quite fun and approachable.
