Dog man: half man, half dog, Crazy irreverent ridiculous cartoon humour. Kids love it, they totally get it. Both of my kids (girl 6+ boy 9) have read these books over and over and started making their own comic strips. I guess that means it is educational? Well they are reading happily together rather than punching each other so I don't even care. I'm glad I bought the set of three because this is no way that one was going to be enough.
My 7 year old son absolutely loves these books, currently re-reading for the third time after reading all of them in one half term.
They are graphic novels so fairly quick reads but very interactive with the flip-o-rama pages and by all accounts very funny as I hear him sniggering constantly. These are the first books he has read independently from cover to cover and so encouraging as a parent to see your child enjoying reading. The new ones out later this year are in my wish list and son is literally counting down the days til release.
This is a nice set of hardback books for children. I bought them for a boy just turning 8 and he thought they were great. His father said you could hear him laughing in the other room and once he finished reading the first one, he re-read it (usually a good sign that the book was enjoyed). The books are beautifully produced, good paper and quality sturdy binding. Should go down a treat with any 8+ reader.
I bought this set for my daughter it took 2 weeks to arrive I’m presuming they came outside of the UK which is fine. My daughter (9) loved the books good quality she said the stories were better than Captain Underpants (I don’t know how that is possible I love CU). It’s layout is like a comic book, all colour and thick quality paper hardback is the way to go as the books will last much longer. We would highly recommend this set.
My daughter discovers the first book of the set in the school library an MD hang stopped going on about them. The stories are crude and insane in a comic book settle but apparently they are amazing so what can I say. Note: this is my daughter's rating, not mine! :-p
