An excellent read, even for a non climber,
This review is from: Facing Up: A Remarkable Journey to the Summit of Mount Everest (Paperback)
I bought this book for my husband's Christmas. He is a hill walker, mainly Munros in Scotland but likes to read about mountains around the world. He enjoyed it then I read it. I did not expect to get past the first few pages as I normally read crime novels but I could hardly put this book down. I had read other reviews and thought that Bears constant mention of god and praying would have put me off but it actually fitted in with what he was describing at the time. He has a very down to earth way of describing what was happening and what he and his fellow climbers were experiencing. It was a very readable book and I did not find it too 'technical' which for a non climber/walker was excellent.
