5.0 out of 5 stars WARNING: Possible Windows 8 software issues, 11 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: LiteOn IHOS104 4x SATA Internal BD-ROM Drive Bare Including CyberLink Software (Personal Computers)
I bought it as a second drive in a new build just to give me the ability to play blu-ray at a low price. Fortunately I decided to stay with Windows 7 as the reviews I read after ordering the player (my mistake) mentioned needing to buy additional software for Win 8. So if you want to use it on Windows 8 then this may not be your best choice. It works out an expensive player that way. However for Win 7 it is a great choice. Admittedly I do not use it much for Blu-ray but it was quickly and easily installed and it works perfectly, Better in fact than the noisy Pioneer dvd player it lives next to that I've decided to replace.

It comes with a sofware dvd but no wiring.

NOTE: I have not personally tested the Windows 8 issue I am going on other verified purchasers reviews that can be found in this list. Several mention the issue.

That's interesting because as I said in my review I was getting the info from other verified buyers who say they needed to buy additional software for blu-rays to play on Win 8, not for it to play dvd's but actual blu-rays on Win 8. To be fair I will change the title slightly, I am currently running Win 7 pro so I can't verify myself.
