Customer Review

on January 7, 2013
This is not the first time Jane's Addiction have covered the Rolling Stones song "Sympathy For the Devil" as it was on their original self-title live album back in 1987 under the name "Sympathy". So this new release is for the soundtrack of the TV show "Sons of Anarchy".

This version has Perry using a swirling vocal effect over the beginning of the song, which works quite well and is a different approach to the first time they covered it. As per usual guitarist Dave Navarro provides great guitar work throughout the song. The track has a real electronic feel which is in keeping with the sound of their last album "The Great escape Artist" which used a lot of electronics.

So with Perry Farrell promising a new album in 2013 that's going to be theatrical this cover version will have to tide us over till then.
