Tom's fantastic, but the script is not.,
This review is from: Doctor Who Serpent Crest 3: Aladdin Time (Audio CD)
Having enjoyed the first two parts of Serpent Crest, I was looking forward to Aladdin Time. Sadly, for me it was a big disappointment. The Doctor in a sort of Land of Fiction- been done, hasn't it? And if you have the whole of fiction to choose from, why Aladdin? The female narrator reads in a bland manner that would make railway station announcements sound interesting. The story isn't just slow paced, it actually falls asleep at several points. It's dull, dull, dull. Tom Baker is great and has some hilarious one liners, Susan Jameson is wonderful as Mrs Wibbsey but where is the story? There's no pace or plot twists. Can't believe Tom is recording this "whippit XXXX" when he used to be so critical. Let's hope the next script is better.
