For so long, the books about Easy Company and the men who served in the 506th have been focused on Richard Winters and his heroism. While he deserves high praise, it's important to remember the rest of the men who fought alongside him, often fighting when he did not. Buck Compton was one of those men and this book is a flawless account of life as an Easy Company soldier. The record is set straight, opinions and comments are replied to and Buck shines through like the hero is truly is. A fabulous read for anyone who considered Band of Brothers to be the reason their love of World War 2 developed.
