Customer Review

on 14 February 2013
This film was made in 1995, however the themes that it explores do not date. As a group of Jews await their fate in Auswicz they contemplate the meaning, or otherwise, of their suffering and put God on trial for breach of contract. The subsequent trial explores the meaning of suffering, goodness, evil and how the holocaust can be reconciled with faith.
Deeply thoughtful, this film could be depressing and nihilistic, but instead is both affirming and ultimately, hopeful.
