Model Scale Aircraft,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Somme Success: The Royal Flying Corps and the Battle of the Somme 1916 (Paperback)
What a lovely book. Over 150,000 Irish men fought in WWI. We had no conscription, they were all volunteers. 44,700 of them died in the many battles of the War. For those soldiers to see planes flying overhead must have given them hope that the methods of warfare might move on from soldiers stuck in mud trenches, to a war in the air, hundreds of feet above them.
This book will also help me as a Scale Model Aircraft flier, to design, build and fly my models in the true style of those famous British, Irish and German pilots.
