Sorry about the above pun With all the recent press about Angus Deayton, it comes as a bit of a surprise to see a specially recorded introduction to the disc recorded by the man himself. Unlike most Best-of compilations, this has several very good points. First of all, the length. Three hours and twenty minutes! Footage from nearly every episode! The very first question! Second is the content. All of the great moments are in here, including: The Tub Of Lard, Boris Johnson, Piers Morgan, Paula Yates. Oh, and Angus on the recieving end of a lot of jokes concerning his private life towards the very end of the disc. However, for anyone looking for footage frlm Angus's final series (Late-2002), this compilation was edited before transmission. And now the extras. First of all, the unintentional ones. You get footage of Jeremy Paxman quizzing Michael Howard ("Did you threaten to overrule him") on Newsnight, John Sergeant with Maggie Thatcher outiside the Paris Embassy, and a hell of a lot of Jeffery Archer making a fool of himself. The commentary by Ian Hislop and Paul Merton is fantastic (sometimes funnier than the show, which is saying something!), and insightful. We also get a Newsnight excerpt on why people agree to guest on the show, the trailers from the last few series, past guests extolling the virtues of the show, and Terry Wogan trying to consign it to Room 101. This is probably one of the best DVD's to come from the BBC. Lets hope that we will see more over the years.
