Customer Review

on 25 October 2004
October 29th 2004* sees the release of the most eagerly awaited game for the PS2, 'Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' is the third installment of the 3D GTA series and is going to be just as (or easily more) pleasing than the previous two.
Unlike the first two console games that were set in cities, San Andreas is a whole Californ-esque state including three cities which play the parts of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas - But re-named to Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas.
To avoid the unrealistic "link 'em together with bridges" approach which was used in the previous two games, San Andreas will include the whole countryside and desert areas of the American state. Many (including me) are more excited about these areas of land than they are about the three smog-filled cities.
The all-new character; CJ, is now under your control in San An, and I mean *complete* control. The player is now able to change CJ's appearance completely. From clothing to tattoos. Even food will make a difference to the characters look. Too much junk food and CJ will become a right porker, yet too little food and he will become a twig. These can affect the way CJ acts in missions. There are many ways to lose weight, and even build extra strength. Rockstar have made sure that this does not dominate the game however. So players will have to worry about it too much and can get on with playing around.
I am very much looking forward to this game and it gets a thumbs up before i've even played it. Rockstar haven't let me down let and this looks like another fine game from them. Buy it.
*UK release date.
