If I'm honest, the last couple of series of 'Benidorm' left me thinking how good the show used to be, and I did feel that the quality was dropping, particularly during the last lot.
Season six has been considerably better, and I've enjoyed every episode. The show has benefited from The Dykes, a new family to join in the adventures, and the characters are all likable and the actors very good.
Sheila Reid has always played battleaxe Madge to perfection, and she is still a consistent scene stealer. She's one of those characters that has never let the side down, and if she was to ever leave, the show would be all the poorer for it.
The unexpected celebrity cameos are always good, and even Joan Collins (whom I've never rated as an actress) was entertaining as the Solana Hotel's boss. Look out for other appearances by journalist and 'Loose Women' Janet Street Porter, ''Tonight Matthew'' Kelly, and Ken Morley, forever remembered as Reg Holdsworth in 'Coronation Street'.
It's all great lighthearted fun, and a big improvement on the sometimes dire series 5.
