It is one of the very finest collection of games around, for me on the PS 3 and on the Mac per Steam. Still going strong here in Okt 2011 and I regularly have another go at Half Life 2. The graphics of course are not quite up there with the very latest but for sheer atmosphere and immersiveness the competition is difficult to find. This sad run-own society is oddly gripping.
Team Fortress 2 has a huge and dedicated following, in particular now it can be had for free. It is the sort of multiplayer I can accept: not too lifelike and real, and still offering plenty of fun blowing up things.
The only thing negative I can think of right here and now concerning Half Life 2 is that while the level of difficulty generally is even throughout the game, on the top level we run into some Boss Fights (well, not quite Boss Fights but thereabouts) too difficult for me. I can not finish the game having played 100% on the top level. But most games have this fun-destroying element: some few impossible scenes at a level far above the rest that almost ruin the game entire. No doubt you'll have no trouble with them but get stuck where I storm through everything.
